Many of the classes offered are dry, mundane and repetitive and are not very good at keeping participants’ attention. Advisors U provides a fresh take on not only continuing education but also offers classes to strengthen your sales skills and even life skills such as self-defense and CPR. Life SkillsMayland Community College offers free Life Skills classes for adults with intellectual disabilities or similar barriers to independence. These classes work to assist adult learners with improving their academic, workplace, and independent living skills.

Our ABLE pathway (formerly known as Compensatory Education) is ideal for disabled adult learners ages 17 or older who want to achieve a higher level of independence and increase their academic skills by focusing on educational, social, vocational and life skills in a supportive academic setting. “Working life has extended so much in the last fifty years that it exceeds life expectancy of even the most successful businesses. Very few businesses are successful for more than 25 or 30 years. And yet most educated people who go to work in their early twenties will keep working until they are 70.

Sullivan BOCES Adult and Continuing Education Program provides high quality educational, technical and vocational services to returning adults, out-of-school youth, and those whose primary language is other than English. Our support services empower families with life skills and citizenship training to forge life-long home, school and community involvement.
